To understand the future, we must first understand the past!. Solus has always been an independent distro, has always maintained a relatively small developer team, has always had an active community via IRC/forums/Twitter/Reddit etc, and has always been (from my experiences at least) a rather stable rolling release distro. Now what does all this mean? Well, essentially that's the core of what makes Solus (there are many more parts to it of course!), and time, money, patience, coding, and even more time will result in the Solus team being able to reach their goals for the future.
Now in the past, Solus devs would occasionally share their progress of whichever project they were working on (think Software Center updates being shared on Google+ for example, RIP btw). Nowadays, news will generally come out when there are big updates/releases (think new Gnome/KDE releases via blog posts). Historically it's been a bit of a blessing and a curse for the team, or a double edged sword if you will, of releasing every single goal/ambition/task for various projects. Expectations become unrealistic or misunderstood and when X,Y,Z doesn't get done, people assume all kinds of things. It becomes counter intuitive to have to take time to always correct the misconceptions, when that time could be better spent on coding.
If you trust Solus enough that you use it as your daily driver, then I would say to continue that trust in Solus as the team moves forward with their vision. But I want to know what that vision is! Well, to that I would say be patient, things will be revealed in due time when they are ready. Until then, just have some faith that there is indeed a future on the horizon for Solus.
Bare in mind, these are just my own personal opinions and in no way reflect the views of Solus and/or the dev team, I just humbly share my own interpretations and experiences as a user.
