nvidia 390.xx series black screen?

Hi folks, when i try to install nvidia-390 suggested by doflicky after reboot i got black screen.
I'm trying to setup an nvidia GT 730 on my system.
I also tried other nvidia drivers like 470 suggested on nvidia site, but i got an black screen after boot again.

sudo systemctl status lightdm.service

if display managee is indeed the problem you may have to start/or restart.

I have restarted machine after nvidia installs, i will try to run this and see whats happen. Also post here the output

if this is not display manager issue I am out of ideas. I remember this same thing happening to me a year ago when I doflickyd nouveau to the 390s.

gotcha me either i just remember stuff.

from that link I sent you:

Girtablulu systemctl start <service> just starts it, you have to rerun the command after a reboot

systemctl enable <service> will hook it into the correct places for be started on boot

systemctl enable --now <service> will hook and start the service

it depends how you wanna use it, always enable everything can lead to a slower boot time (just saying)

so
sudo systemctl enable lightdm.servicethen reboot.
i hope.
or try the other commands. your service does not look like it's active to these eyes

Is your system fully updated? (via Software Center or sudo eopkg up in the terminal)
How did you install the 470 drivers? (because they are not suggested by DoFlicky in your case [which btw surprises me, but that is another matter])
2.1. Can you post the output of running eopkg list-installed | grep nvidia in the terminal?

Yes That is the first thing that i do after install (The second is install nvidia)
I had installed usiong doflicky nvidia-390 but system wont boot at interface
I will post list-installed when back to work 😅

Ps.
I do second clean install, updated system using sudo eopkg update-repo and sudo eopkg up and after a reboot i have installed nvidia via doflicky. And finally reboot again and boom, black screen

SmileYzn Hmm, everything seems okay package-wise. You don't by any chance have non-standard kernel parameters set?

P.S. you don't have to do update-repo before up, the latter updates the repository automatically.

I have only installed solus without change anything.
How i can send parameters of kernel here?

I´m, starting thinking that can be a incompatible hardware, since in kernel 5.4 of other distro nvidia still not running too.

Ps.
At nvidia site GT 730 shows their support for 470 drivers. But i already tried in others drivers that do not worked too. I mean, i do a clean install try to install other drivers versions but none of these works.

No, what I meant is that you don't have to do that, but of course it doesn't hurt either 😄

To be honest I have no idea what the problem is here.
One last question: When you installed the 470-series driver, did you do it like this:

sudo eopkg it nvidia-glx-driver-common nvidia-glx-driver-current nvidia-glx-driver-32bit ?

The important thing being that you don't accidentally install the package nvidia-glx-driver which is for the LTS kernel only.

i tried both kernels, without lucky.
Maybe is really an bad configuration in my bios setup that is not running some stuff.
Since i got same black screen in other distros with different driver and kernel versions.
Anyway i still using solus at home and runs as rocket 😃
