Package Managers

I'm new to Solus (Budgie) and have noticed the lack of certain file managers from Solus repositories. While it does have the managers that go with the pre-packaged desktop environments and a couple other relevant ones such as nnn and Krusader, Nemo and Double Commander.

Why are these not in the software center? Strategically it seems like Nemo should be there because it is the default in Ubuntu Budgie, which I assume quite a few Solus users migrate from. Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm not uber good at this kind of stuff.

very common mindset when people hop, at least if you read these threads long enough, and not a stupid question at all to me. you've come to an independent distro with some discernment in inclusion. As a user that's a pretty cool thing.

I don't see why their default should dictate ours. They couldn't have used Nautilus at the time even if they wanted to, it lacked the desktop icons implementation and it was only fairly recently that I implemented Budgie Desktop View.

Solus is a curated distro. We can and do reject inclusion of certain software when it doesn't meet our expectations or goals. Everything else is down to people actually requesting things and then people volunteering to maintain them.

We have nnn, krusader, doublecmd. Nemo Request

Having used both Dolphin and Nemo in various Linux distros over the years and I MUCH prefer Dolphin. Currently I am running Solus Plasma.

Thanks everyone for the responses.. I noticed a pretty big typo in my post. The first paragraph was supposed to end with, "...Nemo and Double Commander are not present."

I think I messed up in formatting.
