Hi!

I'm new here on the forum, just like I'm a new Solus user.

I discovered this wonderful system by chance a few weeks ago and decided to give it a try. I was already annoyed with the "W1@" for so many bugs and daily updates. I ended up being delighted to use it. I'm already thinking about definitely migrating and making it my default desktop.

Congratulations on the beautiful and light SOLUS_OS system!!

Sorry if my English is as it should. I am a Brazilian who studied a little English only. 😀

welcome. common story. you can make the leap away from W to Solus. I couldn't do it without this joint--but I was happy I did. bienvenidos🙂

Thanks. I'm really done with Solus OS. I had already tried using other Linux systems, such as Ubuntu, Fedora and Manjaro. But Solus was really the one who won me over.

So I found Solus when I joined the forum, Oct 20. I've been using Linux off and on (as a home user, not a tech guy) since early 2000s. I think the Slackware set of 5+ CDs was my first install. I've spent a lot of time on Suse before LEAP. But mostly changed distros every 6 months or so looking for something new...nothing ever really kept me. My longest stop was with #! until the project ended in 2015. I've tried Bunsen and ++ but it is not #!. Fast forward to Oct 2020 - Solus Budgie. I think I tried two distros since but immediately felt compelled to return to Solus. Now, I do not bother. I have fun learning on an old laptop but leave Solus Budgie on my desktop - it really just feels right. The beauty of linux is the diversity of linux. All this to say, welcome to #TeamSolus!

This distro stopped my hopping. Best package manager, best KDE Plasma implementation, super stable, rolling so I don't have to screw with a janky update cycle, excellent documentation, and everything needed for gaming is already set up out of the box or readily available in the software center (no cutting & pasting rando crap off the internet into terminal and hoping it works!).

zmaint This distro stopped my hopping.

That's happened for many of us here. I no longer even have any interest in trying others.

WetGeek I do keep several different distros in VM's, but it's entirely so I can experiment/learn more/help others. I've not ever found anything even remotely as close to my liking as Solus🙂

The closest I come to that is the Budgie VM on my Plasma laptop ... also so I can help others. I believe a picture is worth a thousand words, especially in a how-to message.
