SuperTuxKart issue

Hi, guys!
This summer I switched to Linux and Solus KDE became the first my distro. Yesterday I install SuperTuxKart, but it doesn't work. For a moment I see the icon, but it immediately closes. The only similar cases I found were about nVidia driver on Ubuntu, and I did not install video driver too. Could it be the reason?

For me games are not so important. So I can just remove it and forget. But I just want to understand why it happened. And if I remove the game, will Software Center remove all dependencies and libraries too? The game is supposed to take 14.5 MB, but it looked like it downloaded several hundred megabytes.

i have supertuxkart game installed on my think pad laptop with AMD cpu and a AMD graphics card . it is working fine for me. i cannot see why it should not work for you unless of course you do have Nivida graphics in which case you need to install them . as far as uninstalling software , unless i am mistaken, if you click the remove button in Software Center it will remove the program and all of its dependencies unless they are needed by another program on the system as well.

Maybe someone more familiar with drivers etc. can help you further .

other option is to see if there is a snap or flatpak version of the program or game you want and install it instead. Solus comes with snap package management via the terminal preinstalled by default.
just type snap find supertuxkart in terminal . if available, just follow the prompts and type in your password when requested . if you do install the flatpak or snap version be sure to uninstall the software center version first so as not to be confused . good luck

i just checked and Supertuxkart is available as a Snap package.
i would first open software center and remove supertuxkart game there first and then open terminal and install the snap version of the game . once again good luck

stdout.log is the same until LANGUAGE, but "Can not find file 'Cantarell-Regular.otf' in '/usr/share/supertuxkart/data/ttf/'" sounds like a possible reason.

What's next? I still don't understand what it is: a lost file or a driver issue? And can I fix it: sudo eopkg install --reinstall supertuxkart?

Maybe someone had the same issue: I use Asus N61, KDE Plasma and nVidia, I did not install proprietary drivers, so I think it's build-in open driver.

The error message is pretty clear, it cannot find the file /usr/share/supertuxkart/data/ttf/Cantarell-Regular.otf. Fatal means what it means. It is not an Info, message or a warning, it is an error that prevents the application to continue.

Next step should be to report this on the DevTracker so a developer can have a look at it but since I have time, I'll fix the package now so the update will be available with the next sync.

Thanks. I thought I broke something. Too much change in the last few months.
UPD: Yesterday I updated the system and now STK works fine.
