usb ownership

Hi all,
Have a question to those willing to help...
Looking to install Fedora 34 to replace my current OS but don't have a separate home folder so need to save some things to USB drive. Used KDE's partition manager to convert a USB to EXT4 but am not the owner? Owner set as root. How to I get my USB to have group permissions in Solus?

Thank you. I'm not the savviest with terminal, mostly copy and paste... I did try the apparently frowned upon 777 tweak but it did not help. I did get it working in the past I just do not remember how.

PenguinsRYourFriend Go to the USB, right click inside of it (in file manager), select open terminal here. So it's been a bit, but it should be sudo chown username /directory to change ownership. Of course you'll need to replace the user and directory with your specific information.

Thank you, this worked. Still stuck with the random lost and found folder but I am not too worried about that.
