WetGeek DataDrake All set. Thank you for your patience! Is there any reason to believe that these hardware changes will reduce the occurrence of download timeouts that plague Software Center users when they do updates? That would be delightful!
stalebrim WetGeek As DD briefly stated it's a software issue. As far as I remember it's something that the library that eopkg uses doesn't handle timeouts gracefully and also doesn't produce an unique error code for that occurence.
WetGeek stalebrim Yeah, when he said that, I pretty much assumed that was what was happening. Makes me wonder how many more years it will take to fix that.
stalebrim WetGeek As the library is apparently pretty crucial in the current eopkg implementation, replacing it would require a massive rewrite of stuff, so they've going to fix it for good with the completely new package manager when they get to it.
