Can't pair PS3 controller with xboxdrv, always get LIBUSB_ERROR_IO

Hello, recently I have taken an interest in console emulation. I wanted to play with a controller, so I got my PS3 controller and I plug it in. Nothing. I realised that you need xboxdrv, so I installed it aaaand... USBController::usb_submit_read(): libusb_submit_transfer(): LIBUSB_ERROR_IO. I tried --detach-kernel-driver, --mimic-xpad and unloading xpad. But I always get LIBUSB_ERROR_IO. So I wonder, is it my USB cable, is it because I am using my front USB ports, or is it because of my controller? I can transfer files from my PSP with the same USB cable I use so it can't be the USB right? Can anyone help?

freshestorange From what I remember, it should be plug and play. No xboxdrv needed.

EDIT: Actually now that I remember I had horrible time with Sixaxis. I had to blacklist the motion control device altogether to even get proper input and even then it didn't work properly with the game I wanted to play. Get a DS4 for your sanity.

stalebrim Upon further testing it seems like the controller works perfectly in RetroArch. However the PCSX2 core is still in development and the standalone program doesn't detect my controller.
Kind of a bummer really, I've heard it works while paired with bluetooth, but I don't have any dongles.
