YuriTheHenrique For buying a notebook, Dell is the way, at least here in Brazil, we can buy any notebook from Dell with windows pre-installed, make a call and ask to remove it's windows license and get money back, the value it's the actual cost of the operating system on MS store... That's just lovely of them.
It certainly is ... I knew that Dell offered a Windows/Linux choice on many models, but I had no idea that Dell would allow Linux users to remove the Windows license post-purchase.
I was aware of Dell's support for Linux, but when I explored in more depth yesterday, I became aware of how deep that support is -- numerous models with Ubuntu pre-installed, other models with a Win10/Ubuntu choice during customization, repositories, articles, support pages, community forums and the like. Dell is aligned with Canonical/Ubuntu, so support for other distros is not direct, but an experienced Linux user can adapt from Ubuntu to other distros in most cases.
I'm not sure why Dell approaches Linux differently that other major manufacturers, but it seems to be a fact.
