FFMPEG update

The recent ffmpeg-devel upgrade broke a program I use called comskip https://github.com/erikkaashoek/Comskip I tried to rollback using sudo eopkg history -t 8 so that I could downgrade the ffmpeg library. I receive an error

System error. Program terminated. Repo item fuse-exfat not found Please use 'eopkg help' for general help. Use --debug to see a traceback.

I ran sudo eopkg history -t 8 --debug

I won't even pretend to know what the traceback is telling me. If someone can help me rollback I would appreciate the help.

craigd I suggest you to package this application, instead of compiling. Is you want I can share package.yml files for argtable2 and comskip.

sudo eopkg rdb and fuse -exfat got deprecated so it doesn't ind it anymore to install

It is not possible to rollback when a package is deprecated since it is not available anymore.

Have you tried recompiling that comskip program? Maybe that's all that's necessary?

Staudey I have no idea what it is doing but recompiling it will fix the issue.

I discovered the problem was with my comskip.ini file. I ran comskip without the comskip.ini and it worked. I have used this comskip.ini for years with no problem but something about the new ffmpeg and it don't get along. My comskip.ini had tuneable parameters and a description of the parameter in a comment field. I removed all my descriptions and just left the tuning parameter in the comskip.ini and now it works fine again.

I'm still learning, what does it mean to package the application? I'd be interested in learning more. I haven't looked yet but I'll check the documentation for more info.

craigd packaging it means to get the eopkg file, which is like the .deb for debian based distros.
Then you can install it like sudo eopkg it comskip-0.82.009-1-1-x86_64.eopkg. Later you can uninstall it from your system from termial sudo eopkg rm comskip or from "Software Center" simply by cliking "Remove" like any other packages installed on your system.

Ignore "PLEASE FILL ME IN" because I didn't insert the package description.
