Really laggy animations GNOME 40.

So, I updated today to GNOME 40. Deactivated the extensions that I installed, themes, etc., everything that didn' come with Solus. Updated and now overview is really laggy, before this it was so smooth.

What info can I provide to investigate this? What can I do?

yep, not sure theres anything the solus folks can do, as its identically laggy and jerky on opensuse tumbleweed which i installed on another disk a week or 2 ago to test out gnome 40. hopefully 40.1 or something will fix it

Use a different desktop environment that performs halfway decent. Here's your options:

Budgie
MATE
Plasma

You could surely do a LOT worse!

Budgie is as decent as Gnome and you'll enjoy it, But don't expect the same extension ecosystem.
