Staudey Fair enough, I've heard about the -X option, but it wasn't working. Probably because of the reason ya mentioned. Welp, I'm just hoping drivers 470 don't come out too soon hahaha

To be honest. After using the "new" Gnome for a few hours, it works just fine. Thanks.

evert 6 hours after your initial shock you find that you love it! That's the best part of digital discovery.

My update has been stuck on the Libksysguard file for the last 10 minutes or more. It is only 130mb and I am on at 1tb fiber line, not sure yet what to do with it seemingly stuck half way through the update process?

Sorry, forgot to say I am running KDE/Plasma on the current Solus.

After half an hour stuck, I went up and "X" closed the software center and then reopened it and started the update download all over again and this time all 234 items updated fine.

eye4bear Sometimes the update stuck. In this case you just have to kill the process and start again.

That is why it is advantageous to use the terminal for updates, so you can see exactly where and when things happen.
Ctrl-C to 'bug out', or cancel the update command, and restart when things freeze.

Dash to Dock is temporarily deprecated from the Solus repositories and is no longer enabled by default via our desktop branding. We will reintroduce Dash-to-Dock support when the current merge request for GNOME 40 support, which introduces some instability and is “very much WIP” (exact quote), is merged in and a release is tagged around it.

Staudey Too bad you are having these problems. Don't want to use Gnome until a panel comes back and you don't know when. I'll use another distro like Mint or Manjaro and come back to Solus later.

Solarmass I left Budgie last year and installed Gnome. Don't care for Budgie.
I have used Gnome 40 on Manjaro and no problems. Solus should not upgrade to Gnome 40 until it all works. Do a better job next time. See you later.

Solarmass yup, why bother with a DE that constantly reduces features, changes your workflow, suffers from performance issues, and loves to breaks 3rd party compatibility? couldn't care less about Guh-nome these days.

h3o well, especially if you prefer the traditional single-panel layout why bother with Gnome 40 and rely on 3rd party extensions...

Solarmass I'm just used to GNOME. I've been using it for a few years now.

GNOME hasn't yet managed to piss me off enough to warrant switching to a different DE.

Also, my current install is nearly 2 years old and I really want to keep it going, and I don't like the idea of having 2 DEs installed.

If I ever do end up leaving GNOME (I'm not ruling out the possibility of it happening some day), I'd probably switch to Budgie or Plasma.

Junglist would love to see Budgie support dominant color use in the taskbar! Just a handy little extra I love it on dash to dock and dash to panel
