BIOS was set to UEFI mode and was running a fresh install of Fedora KDE (which had all kinds of issues, but that's another story) on BTRFS partition. Flashed Solus KDE to USB with Etcher.
It wouldn't boot/authenticate (whatever that means) until I switched BIOS mode to Legacy, and then it booted and installed.
However...I would really like to run in UEFI mode if possible, and also I noticed some strange behaviour, like the WiFi networks menu has the SSIDs moving while I am entering the password. This is a very annoying bug as I have to click into the right field and start entering again, sometimes more than once.
Very grateful if anyone could assist, as I am reaching the end of my patience while searching for a distro that allows me to run KDE problem-free.
P.S> FYI here is a quick resume of the problems I've faced with other distros:
Manjaro KDE - runs smoothly for weeks or months then develops serious instabilities, probably due to the Pacman base. I'm not installing tons of crap from AUR.
Suse - installed but would not boot
Kubuntu - Could not install, Ubiquity crashed every time
Fedora KDE - installed but had unusable bugs
Neon - installed but had very annoying bugs (Such as Touchpad stopping 'Tap to click' midway through a session)
Redcore - live medium runs but 'Install system' link on Desktop would not work
And the list is considerably longer than this.
Please help me restore faith in GNU 🙂
