Shutdown time in Plasma version is longer than in Budgie

I switched over from the Budgie version to Plasma and I noticed that shutdown takes longer in Plasma than Budgie. On Budgie it did use to spit out the No irq handler for vector error for a split second, but the computer turned off in less than a second. Now on Plasma the No irq handler for vector message appears but it stays there significantly longer (at times over 15-20 secs until the pc shuts down). It is not a massive problem, but I thought I might mention it just in case someone has a similar problem or the fix for it.

there's a thread inside of this thread too full of fixes, but these peeps are talking about 1-3 minute delays.
I don't consider 15 seconds alarming. I shutdown pretty instant, but sometimes some services are stubborn about being shut down, or firewall is hung up with an outbound connection or something activated watchdog service.
I'd be surprised if this is a Plasma issue.

brent You're right. Basically, for any OS, it all depends on what's running and needs to be shut down before the it closes. In my experience, Solus both loads fast and shuts down fast, regardless of the DE.

brent Yeah, it's by no means alarming, but I noticed it straight away after switching from Budgie to Plasma. Shutdown on Budgie was instantaneous.

MOOP I agree with you, that can be interpreted as pretty cut and dry proof there is a shutdown lag time between Desktops. I'm wrong a lot. When the shutdown time gets irksome for me I sometimes peruse the logs and for me, personally, it's always been one of those factors I mentioned above. You went from Budgie to Plasma on the same hard drive? Hardware sometimes a factor too.

brent Yeah, on the exact same hardware. As you pointed out, it's probably some rebel service that doesn't want to die right away 😆.
