2560x1080 resolution

Hello,
I am trying to get my 2560x1080 (LG 29WL500) to work with it's full resolution. Unfortunately I can't select the appropriate resolution from the display menu. I tried this: https://www.leowkahman.com/2019/02/06/ultrawide-monitor-on-linux/ with xrandr, but it results in a blackscreen. My graphics card is a Radeon HD 5670.
It would be great if any of you can help me with this.

The first thought that comes to mind is this: is it possible that your monitor supports the desired resolution, but the video card you're using is an older one, and it does not? If you know for sure that it does, then it's certainly some other problem, but if you're not sure, it's something worth checking.

These days, basic video cards that will do the job for you are relatively inexpensive, and available nearly anywhere.

Do you connect the display using HDMI? If yes, try DisplayPort instead. Probably HDMI is too old on your card.

ive had a 2560x1080 and currently a 3440x1440 (both 21:9) and both have worked out of the box without any tweaking so its not solus not liking the format. most likely its cable or gpu that doesent support it? (as been suggested)

I found the solution!! The problem is indeed that the pixel clock ratio of my graphics card is just 165 Mhz. This is calculated by pixels times the refresh rate. 2560 * 1080 * 60 is above 165 Mhz and thus I get a black screen. By using the source provided above with a lower clock rate I managed to get it work with a refresh rate of 54.75 Hz.
Modeline "2560x1080x54.75" 165.000000 2560 2608 2640 2720 1080 1083 1087 1108 +HSync -VSync
These are the settings I used.
