-hyphen thx, but I do not think the mountpoint would cause this issue. I use seperate SSHD for Steam, so I can use the very same installation on the same computer with different distributions. Any yes, I did my homework, and can state that mixing Arch (Manjaro, ArcoLinux) with Solus does no harm. You just have to make sure to have the latest mesa and Vulkan drivers on all distributions.
As stated above, I tried to rename the *.mov files, but that didn't change anything. Game(s) still collapsing within the first second.
Next I'll try the config.ini, but I have an old FX 8350 AMD with 8 threads, so I do not expect any wonders.
just yes, I encountered the same problem trying to run the spoken games with Proton. They did run before (about 1-2 years ago), so I really count on an issue regarding newer kernel, missing libraries in Solus or at least the tailored Steam client might need some review.
YuriTheHenrique well, I'm sitting on a complete AMD computer, FX 8350 CPU, RX 480 GPU, 8GB RAM and using latest mesa + Vulkan drivers with all 3 Linux distributions on the same hardware. That's how I found out that only Solus is showing that incompatibility issue. BTW, Xcom 1 was playable for me, but I do not own #2.
