@tflovik Thank you, I went ahead with the KDE edition since this was a production machine and I'm a freelancer and spending time on troubleshooting OSes for me means holding off clients which I cannot risk! I'll definitely try GNOME again when a Solus update featuring the GNOME 40 comes out.
I have to dual boot Ubuntu 18.04 for compatibility with ROS packages for my work related tasks and it seems Solus and GRUB-based distros are not best friends! Long story short, it took 2 full days, 8 fresh installations (4 for each OS) to finally get them working on 2 separate disks (one SSD and the other on a HDD) and losing two of my partitions with valuable data during this struggle... ☹️
I like Solus for being lean, fast, featuring the latest technologies and kernel, and a consistent in design philosophy; kudos to the developers for these, but from my experience I believe the Installer has a lot of room for improvements especially in dual-boot and compatibility areas, also multi-selection marking for installation and separating the packages from "production" applications in different sections in the Software Center would be a big plus (Third-Party section is an example but moving all the similar apps in one unified section would be great).
I guess Solus finally helped me stop distro-hopping and that says a lot. 👍️
