Hi. I followed Solus for a long time and wanted to try it, but decided to wait for 4.2. It seems close enough already so I decided to register to make myself familiar with forum and bugtracker. Anyway, I created minimalistic 1920x1080 wallpaper in style of Solus logo. It shows a little boat on the horizon. It was made from scratch in Inkscape, however If Solus team decides that it violates the copyrights then I'll delete it as soon as possible. It's not to say that included wallpapers are bad because they are great, but last time I checked there were no vector things.

Here's the download link which includes png wallpaper and svg file so you can modify it to suit your own screen:

Pretty cool actually. Funny enough, my favorite one that comes with the distro is:

Tullamore Dew and Legendary Barrels---one of those was the Budgie default when I first installed.

Many in that vein were very classy and proved a rare maxim: it was branding without branding at all.
Bog branch and the nature pics, along with the gourgeous irish stuff, were iconic, and I associate that stuff with Solus without anything saying Solus...
...while we're offtopic and all....

that boat is really cute, I like it. kind of reminds me of the sailboat painting from The Simpsons

Love the wallpaper! Thanks for making this 🙂

Would you make colour versions?
I would target black with the white boat.

Long life for simplicity!

murbert Why not use the official Solus logo?

At first that was the idea, but the more I looked at it the less it made perspective sense. So I simplified the logo making it truly look like boat from the side and recreated the two pieces that are on the logo as a sail.

RobertTVarga Would you make colour versions?

Well, I could but don't see the reason to. There is svg file included. You can edit it yourself under 1 minute and export to whatever size you want. It is really easy, you just select the wanted object and right click the colours on the bottom panel to choose the outline or fill colour. Then you open the file menu, select export to PNG and choose the resolution and filename. Everything in the svg was created as object so you can freely choose the colours yourself easy way.

DasJott Also darkness and default color scheme.

Both of them are great. So I stole them both on my device. Currently using the forest one because I felt something was off when the first was used as wallpaper (It looks great and is definitely the closest to my vision, but... idk)

EDIT: I just corrected the quotes, sorry.

[deleted] Thank you 🙂 I made them to be stolen 😉
Maybe at any point you can describe what could be improved on the lake one 🙂

Will make some from time to time. I love fiddling with Gimp.

I've stolen the Forrest one and made it my login screen 🙂 Great work!

DasJott They are both awesome. I think the lake one is a little 'off' in the sense that the boat does not see as integrated in the picture as the one in the forest. I stole the forest one. Thank you!

jppelt you're right and I was also not overly satisfied with it. Will try to correct that anytime soon 🙂

DasJott It does fit more organically. What are you using, GIMP?
