While we have BTRFS enabled in the kernel and btrfs-progs in the repo, that is primarily for mounting BTRFS partitions as well as Docker's BTRFS storage driver. We do not support it as a filesystem type in the installer nor have any plans on supporting at this time. Having unstable RAID5 and RAID6 support, as well as "mostly OK" performance isn't really a selling point (their words not mine). They frequently deprecate functionality and flags, even as recent as deprecation of subvolume flags in 5.9, whereas EXT4 is far more feature stable and thus there is less of a concern for us being put into a scenario where we can't roll back a kernel upgrade without breaking someone's filesystem.

One thing BTFRS has, and EXT4 will never have, is check summed data. And this is very important to have even for desktop daily use.
We can have "Bit Rot" conditions on EXT4, XFS and other file systems, but not on BTRFS (or ZFS, HAMMER) as they are also fully checked summed.
I'll take check summed data any time over EXT4 inferior data protection. Please consider this for future releases.

I appreciate the stance @JoshStrobl has on it. Even though people across the internet have claimed its benefit is great, I haven't seen that myself when using it.

EXT4 still overall outperforms BTRFS on NVME drives as well when used with MRAID providing better RAID performance.

Personally I find bcachefs much more interesting than btrfs, though I never used it.

kaktuspalme Bcachefs and Btrfs seems very similar. What is the difference between the two? Just curious.

Look into BTRFS's RAID1C3 and RAID1C4 modes. Things have changed.
