Hybrid56 I don't have a swap partiton, is that normal?
If that 32 GB is your only "disk drive," that's probably the problem. It's not large enough for an OS installation AND a swap partition. Or a swap file, for that matter.
Does the PC happen to be an ACER TravelMate? I have one of those, for ... well ... traveling. It fits into carry-on luggage, including motorcycle saddlebags. It's the only computer I know of that ships with a 32 GB eMMC as its only "disk." And it comes with Windows 10 installed (and plenty of bloatware)!
If you have the same PC, be aware that there's room for a 2.5" drive inside, complete with a SATA connection, just begging to have a real drive installed. I removed the bottom cover of mine and plugged in a 500 GB SSD. That's far larger than needed, but I happened to have it already. A $20 128 GB SSD is plenty good enough to make a usable computer out of it with Solus installed.
You'll also need to turn off the Windows-specific secure boot setting in the BIOS, after which you can select the new SSD you just installed when you set up Solus.
If you don't happen to have one of these laptops, let us know what you DO have, and maybe someone else can advise.
