George In addition, the author of that page lists a way to fix (in about:config) all these things if user didn't want them. So if Firefox is really spyware, the author showed how to make it no spyware.

"Phoning home" is completely necessary and is used by Firefox to know if it is currently connected to the Internet and if it is behind a captive portal, just like NetworkManager does. Not a problem.
"Sometimes it doesn't make the requests at all; other times you end up with hundreds of images, scripts, trackers, etc. loaded simply because you opened a new tab" - How else do you think thumbnails for pages are created on the new tab page for the history items? It has to generate it from the page content or fetch OpenGraph data as a network request. If you don't want it to make a thumbnail for content and are uncomfortable with it going to that page, why did you go to the page to begin with? Only does it for bookmarks and history. Solus already does a bunch of cleanup of the newtab page by disabling snippets and addon recommendations.
"Firefox tracks users with Google Analytics" - This issue is entirely because of analytics on the Mozilla website and not related to Firefox, it doesn't magically make Firefox spyware. This is blatant misinformation on the part of the poster, but that isn't surprising.
"Safe" Browsing? - Yes, Google runs a Safe Browsing API that is used by Firefox for anti-malware purposes. This protects you from visiting websites that are known to have viruses, spyware, malware, etc. Not new, not spyware.
"Firefox Health Report" - Also not spyware, the data is anonymized and can be disabled outright.
"Anti-privacy search engines by default" - This is stupid. Not going to bother with a response to this. Change your search engine.
"Pocket — a privacy nightmare" - Then don't use it. Simple.
"Automatic updates" - This is dumb. What if there is a security update, how do you expect to be informed of it? Not really foreign to Solus users anyways, we automatically check for package updates.
"Firefox phones home about almost every single interaction you have with its UI" - Specific parts of the "telemetry" are related to specific functionality that may be disabled by default (by Firefox or Solus), only submitted when you use specific features, etc. Any personal data is scrubbed and within 14 days is anonymous, in 13 months it is deleted.
"Whitelisting trackers" - This is stupid. Their Enhanced Tracking Protection is a privacy feature and literally protects you from privacy-violating trackers.

JoshStrobl thank you Joshua, that link sent pen-friend and he really believes that everything is as it is written there. I use firefox and I really like it. I am not a developer, but at the internal level it seems to me that the one who wrote this text is incompetent. Therefore, I wrote on the solus forum where there are real developers.
