SOLUS "INSTALLATION" ON XMG Fushion 15
I received my new laptop, a XMG Fushion 15 laptop (output inxi -FZs below).
I took out the Evo 970 NVME from my Lenovo Ideapad C340-15IIL i7, which was running great with Solus 4.1 and put it in the XMG Fushion 15. I started the laptop and logged in and it worked. I only had to install the Nvidia drivers though System Settings - Hardware Driver. I have "only" the Nvidia GTX 1660 TI. But I have now 1 powerful laptop replacing my Lenovo 15" laptop AND Gaming PC.
SCREENS
The XMG Fushion 15 comes with a screen running 144 Hz refresh rate. I have an MSI screen 27" with Freesync connected via Display Port. The MSI screen also supports (only with DisplayPort) 144 Hz even for Nvidia Graphics cards.
I have installed Steam and the games run great (yes the fans are kicking in). But overall I am very very satisfied with that Laptop and even more with Solus and how reliable it works for me on that great new laptop.
THE BRAND XMG, ITS VARIATIONS AND MANUFACTURERS (example GERMANY, but ship international)
the XMG comes in many names in different regions of this world and it is not very popular. But if you do some research in Youtube you will find many reviews. Bestware.com (Schenker Technologies in Leipzig Germany) has currently a €250.00 discount offer and you can get the base system (like mine with only 8GB of RAM) for €1199.00.
Also by default you can actually customize your computer when planing on ordering one.
Tuxedo.de is another company in Germany producing computers for Linux since 2004.
LINUX SUPPORT FOR XMG 15 FUSHION (and derivates)
Now Tuxedo offers full software support in Linux for any XMG Fushion 15 System owners. I will try to "install" the software packages (.deb).
