With time on my hands and the start of a new year I thought I would share the following;
Its taken me a while to get the confidence and take the plunge but being in lock down has given me the time and confidence to go ahead and build a package from source, specifically Featherpad a light weight qt based text editor that's not to my knowledge, in the repository as it looked fairly straightforward.
I felt pretty good as I followed the prompts from the read me file and hey presto after a few false starts with missing dependencies which cmake was very helpful in providing the process went very smoothly.
Its a very satisfying experience and one that I now feel confident in repeating
Coming from a windows based past (lol who hasn't?) the thought of interacting with the command line has taken sometime to overcome but I'm no longer afraid 😀
