I've had that problems too (not after this update). I switch my audio devices relatively often and pulseaudio sometimes gets messed up. In that case I delete in my home folder the .config/pulse folder and restart/kill pulse.
rm -r ~/.config/pulse/
pulseaudio -k
After that, set your default device in pavucontrol. Let us know if it works.
