Today i noticed screen tearing when playing videos in mpv player (also vlc). I use default drivers (no nvidia drivers are installed), since screen tearing was eliminated some years ago on them, but not anymore? It doesn't seem to affect browser and youtube videos i think, just local video files played through video players. I had lots of issues with nvidia drivers and tearing on this old laptop with GT 740M, so i decided to not use them anymore, since default configuration was seemingly tear-free, but something changed. What could have caused this? Intel graphics are Intel HD 4000. Kernel is linux-current.
EDIT: I guess this somehow happens only when i have an external monitor connected through vga port, it affects the laptop screen too.
