MichaelD Hi, I have a N68-GS4 ASRock motherboard which for some reason can't install any linux distro properly. I had a workaround for Manjaro 19 which included me changing two forcedeth parameters <msi=0 msix=0>. Is there any similiar way to do it also in Solus? brent so when you make the live usb iso correctly, boot it up, and attempt to install solus on your HDD or SSD, what happens? feel like so much info missing here, or to be fair to you, that I'm not understanding.
MichaelD brent So I am gonna tell you what I did to work but failed eventually. First I booted solus 4 into live CD with some to changes to the parameters (I changed the -quiet ---> forcedeth msi=0 msix=0) so that I could get internet into the live environment so that I was able to do a somewhat normal installation of solus. After the installation completed I booted into the HDD where solus were and I thought that if I did something similar into the actual OS I could get away with it so I opened the terminal, (be noted that after the installation I still had no internet connection) I went into the /etc folder and I made a modprobe.d folder and in that folder I made a forcedeth.conf which contained the parameter options forcedeth msi=0 msix=0 after that I save the file and did a hard reset because I could not shutdown the pc (part of the problem) After the restart I had internet connection and I said why not to do a full system update and so I did. In the middle of the update (in the part where it was extracting) it just locked me out without a mouse. I did again a hard reset because there was no other way to shutdown the computer and after the grub loader screen, the screen was black with only this ---> [ _ ] flashing in the left upper corner of my screen
