this may be off topic but its been few months since I tried solus budgie ( had graphic glitches ) Im using it now and its super smooth and am happy these updates coming 😃

JoshStrobl changed the title to Event(s): GNOME 3.38.x Stack Upgrade Streams .

George It's basically just safety rebuilds at this point and validating Budgie, some third-party applets, and packaging the budgie-desktop-view. Basically all the stuff that isn't being deprecated or held back has already been updated and there isn't actually anything stopping me from doing the GNOME Shell testing on my laptop already. I just prefer to make sure I have all the documented rebuilds completed before I start testing.

Update: I will be streaming on Saturday, November 14th starting at 1400 EET (1200 UTC) and ending around 2000 EET (1800 UTC). This will just be me pushing the packages, nothing thrilling, so feel free to tune in whenever or just skip it 😃

Figured I'll be stuck in my chair for hours and hours so may as well stream while I'm at it 😛

gustavovalerio Yes, there will be Budgie updates as well as the move from Nautilus as the desktop icons provided to our own Budgie Desktop View. There will be details about that in the usual GNOME Stack testing tasks I make when the stack upgrade is completed in the unstable repo.

By the way, thankful for this wonderful system! Tomorrow I will exchange the plasma for Budgie. So I can help in strengthening the environment! Thanks for the answer!

JoshStrobl In this case, will the nautilus be updated to version 3.38 and will the Budgie be able to manage the desktop without relying on the nautilus? If so, it will be amazing!

        Yes

JoshStrobl there will be Budgie updates as well as the move from Nautilus as the desktop icons provided to our own Budgie Desktop View.

Nautilus is what provided desktop icons support in Budgie as well as gnome an why it was held back from further updates until Budgie had native support. Gnome continues to have support but through third party extensions vs Budgie where it is a core feature.

        JoshStrobl unstickied the discussion .

Locking this post now that the GNOME 3.38 stack upgrade is complete, streams are long finished, and we're syncing all these goodies to you all.
