I don't think it matters...it's just disk space (mostly). And it's a little questionable if you can call a tiling manager as the same kind of beast as gnome or budgie environment. It's a bit more primitive and stand alone.
If you want to run gnome things, you're going to be loading gtk libraries anyway.
Not that you asked, but I think I like sway better than i3 (not sure why yet).

    dbarron I think it actually matters a little bit... but i can agree that there is a lot of "technical preciosity", like a "technical hyperbole" on this subject... but indeed, if your system have more packages, there are more places where a security problem can appear. Of course all of this involves like a said a "technical hyperbole" you know... but despite of the fact that i don't wanna be the guy who can only use a minimal Arch Linux install, i also don't wanna be the crazy dude who have 4 Desktop Environments in a openSUSE installation you know? I try to seek balance.

      Justin I like Solus, and i would like to stay in it, my doubts are more related to this techinical "bloated or not" part, I'm not an IT student guy.

        If you like your system and it works fine for your needs why are you wondering if you have to change?
        It's like if you say I have a nice house and feel good in it... Should I move away?

        Unless you'd like to use vanilla i3 without any DE (and thus I'd understand your concern and I would advise you to use a Kiss distro - which you already know), what do you exactly want?

          kyrios You are right, im happy with my current setup, and i love the Solus sane way of thinking. I think the main doubt that made me make this post was more about asking guys who have technical knowledge about this "bloat or not thing"... just to hear something like these two things:

          1- If you decide to use i3-Gnome from a Budgie installation, you will have too much unnecessary packages installed.

          2- Since you are using i3-Gnome anyways, you will not have so much unnecessary packages installed anyways, and you can use it i3 on Solus without concerns.

          Also I do not need an i3 vanilla experience... I'm okay with changing things normally on the i3 of Solus... actually i learned some new stuffs i didn't knew 😀.

            I use i3 on Solus and it is excellent. I have it well tricked out how I like it

            Justin Would be nice to have a tutorial on how to do this for Solus! Despite, i confess, personally, I think I'm just going to rest on my GNOME + I3 installation right now.

              dbarron I think he means running i3-gaps on top of mutter. But I also think there is a language barrier here.

                Justin I'm interested in that too. I guess the same commands will work for cleaning after installing bspwm
