flatpak and snap integration to the software center?

Currently it seems like the Software Manager is pretty underdeveloped (like most things), with its latest major changes dating back to very long ago. Honestly I do not think you should expect this any time soon, and I think it would be less of a burden for developers and overall better for users to just support eopkg in PackageKit and provide GNOME Software / KDE Discover by default, but that's a very personal opinion

-r- that's pretty harsh and premature. solus devs are actively working on improving it--they've even named it--, and have announced it to the forum many times.

brent I know, but unfortunately it seems like the frontend/GUI bits are starting to get rusty.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the project, and in fact have been actively recommending it since 2016 or so.
The impression I get from it nowadays is that it turned from one of the most innovative to one of the most conservative distros (no Flatpak GUI, no Wayland...) on some sides, and as a Solus user since years (haven't found anything stabler to keep as daily driver) I would be actually ready to donate to the project.

In my view, many glitches can be 'blamed' on quirks in the newest Linux kernels. They come off the "assembly line" too fast, and not well tested. Perhaps Solus should adapt a more 'wait and see' approach to using current kernels?

I don't think Solus software are "underdeveloped", some Solus's technologies are being rewritten right now, and this takes time, it is a small team compared to other commercial and non-commercial distros out there, heck they don't even want donations(plzdontbanme).
But, as I was saying eopkg will be deprecated, in turn we'll have sol, and of course the software center will have a major update too, the actual 3rd party applications will be unused and replaced, and it will support flathub/snap.

And of course you can always use flatpak and snapd from terminal, it is fully functional, and it's not hard, there are some github projects that can help you if you want a gui for this.

I saw posts about integrating flats and snaps to the SC over a year ago.
Is there any way to get other GUI for them on solus?
Want to install it for someone that will not use the terminal...

There is a snap package available which provides a GUI for the snap store.
sudo snap install snap-store

No idea if one exists for flatpak.

Apparently it's possible with other distros? I'm really curious about that.

Yes, GNOME Software integrates full support for Flatpaks, and is used by most distros. But it has its big shortcomings, which is why I actually believe the Solus team is right about sticking to their own SC.
