Hi, I am struggling to install Solus on my new laptop which has AMD Ryzen 3900 and NVidia RTX 2070 (with MaxQ) - on my old laptop with AMD Phenom II P960 and ATI 4200/5470 graphics is working alright (and the install was a breeze). I had a look online and all the advises I found ended up in the same spot = a blinking cursor.
The best result (to actually have some feedback on the screen) I had it with following steps:
on boot from USB pressed 'E' then deleted 'quiet splash' and added 'nomodeset' or 'nouveau.modeset=0'
at the blinking cursor (when no more / info shown on screen) - pressed (Alt+F6) or (Ctrl+Alt+F2) and then login with root / root
sudo eopkg up
sudo eopkg it nvidia-glx-driver-current
next step (5. sudo systemctl restart lightdm) did not work as it took me back to a blinking cursor
I have even tried with the old laptop's HDD (after installing the latest NVIdia drivers), but still no luck.
is there any possibility to overcome this or to start the Install process from the terminal commands ? or I need to wait for the Solus OS 4,2 and hope for the best at that time.
any help appreciated, thanks
