So i'm 99% sure i'm not linked to unstable repo. i'm just a casual user.

but i tried updating today with "sudo eopkg up" before i had been on here and seen this. it failed with the following message:

Program terminated.
Could not fetch destination file "https://mirrors.rit.edu/solus/packages/shannon/eopkg-index.xml.xz.sha1sum": [Errno 14] curl#60 - "SSL certificate problem: self signed certificate in certificate chain"

is this related? and have i screwed something up?

Diggis Probably not related. You can check which repo you are using with eopkg lr ("list repositories")
If you see "shannon", then you are not on the unstable repo. Like this:

 ~  eopkg lr                                              

Solus [active]
   https://mirrors.rit.edu/solus/packages/shannon/eopkg-index.xml.xz

Yup, my system broke. Woke up, turned on the PC and got update notification. Hit update while getting coffee. The thing got stuck. Restarted and started piece by piece. Eventually, after a restart, cant pass login. If I put in the wrong password, it says wrong password. With right password it just cycles back to the login again.

So messed up. What to do?????

deeamboh Are you sure you are on the unstable repo? See my comment above.
If so, you probably have to log in on a tty session and roll back the last update.

Just installed last week. These should be the first updates. Had a thing with the wifi so didn't get around to updates till today. New on this distro too. We will see how it goes.

Over 320 packages later and I just sent the last one to the build server. Here's hoping this is a smooth upgrade.
