I am trying out Solus and really like the distro so far. It is complete without being overwhelming, and very fast and light on resources. There is one exception though: Libreoffice starts very slowly, even compared to Ubuntu 20.04. The happens on both the Budgie and KDE versions of Solus.

Am I missing something such as a preload setting at startup that needs to be turned on?

simstim Libreoffice is a chunky monkey. I think there is a way to disable Java in the settings, there's guides around somewhere.

simstim LibreOffice has been upgraded to v7.0.4.1 on Debian Unstable. Solus is currently on v7.0.3.1. I noticed an improvement in startup speed with v7.0.4.1 on Debian Unstable.

I just tried disabling the JRE option and it had no effect. LibreOffice still takes about 3 seconds to startup.

kyrios The "Memory" option is no longer available as far as I know.
