addy3494 Recently switched to solus 4 from macos high sierra on my macbook air, it takes around 30 seconds to the login screen. is there a way i can make this faster ? Cheers, Addy3494
siru addy3494 Was the 30 seconds spent waiting on the Mac boot screen (before Solus bootloader)? You can get rid of the delay with the "bless" command -- as shown here: https://mattgadient.com/2018/02/12/reducing-the-30-second-delay-when-starting-64-bit-ubuntu-in-bios-mode-on-the-old-32-bit-efi-macs/
addy3494 kyrios its seems ok now, just 2 issues, bluetooth on my wireless seems faded at times and the Webcam dosent work, any idea on the fix ?
kyrios Nope... you should identify your hardware and search the web for solutions. Fist thing is to check if you can find your hardware with lspci or lsusb.
addy3494 siru i dont have macos anymore, i did complete wipe of the hard drive before installing solus, any suggestions ?
siru Create a USB boot stick with a OSX/MACOS install DVD and boot off it .... The interesting thing is with a Ubuntu (18.10) install this manual step is not necessary. Maybe someone with more partition/EFI know how can explain?
