  • Gnome Tweaks looses Extensions section

During Gnome upgrade from 3.36.0 to 3.36.1 on 3 April 2020, the gnome-tweaks 3.32.0 release number passed from 26 to 27.

Release 26 has Extensions section, in gnome-tweaks-3.32.0-26-1-x86_64.eopkg package of 17 March 2020.

Release 27 doesn't have Extensions section, in gnome-tweaks-3.32.0-27-1-x86_64.eopkg package of 3 April 2020.

Extensions section is located between Desktop and Fonts sections in Solus Gnome Tweaks.

Solus gnome-tweaks 3.32.0 release 26 with Extensions:

Solus gnome-tweaks 3.32.0 release 27 without Extensions:

Other distros with Gnome 3.36.1 still have Extensions section in higher Tweaks versions.

Arch gnome-tweaks 3.34.0 with Extensions:

Rawhide gnome-tweaks 3.34.0 with Extensions:

It was handy to have Extensions in Tweaks.

just I might be a bit mistaken, but Gnome 3.36 added an official Gnome Extensions app in which those devs stated:

This is now the primary way for users to manage extensions. It supports globally disabling extensions, uninstalling and updating user extensions, and toggling individual extensions on or off.

Feel free to read more about it from their brief announcement back in March: https://blogs.gnome.org/shell-dev/2020/03/02/this-month-in-mutter-gnome-shell-february-2020/

Personally, I think it's unfortunate that I have to use yet another app to do what Gnome Tweaks was already doing just fine, but it is what it is at this point and if I have to pick my battles, it's not like a win or loss in this case, but more of a compromise considering all things that they changed after the 3.36 upgrade.
