Instal Epson L3050 printer

I followed instructions on:

No luck.

When I test print it seems to process but the printer doesn't budge (yes, it's on and plugged in).

Any help?

Anyone? I just spent another hour trying to get the damn thing working. Other distros see it imediATLY - no action required at all..

If was me I'd rip out all that stuff you installed or tried to install.
You need drivers.
So let Solus find the printer naturally in print settings.
If you got that, then see if the Epson drivers in the software center work for you.
Also check here to see if there are Epson threads where devs built packages. (https://dev.getsol.us/) Then you'd be done.
If you absolutely come up empty then you can also request a custom package for your model at https://dev.getsol.us/.

Even though that tutorial claimed to be the SOLUS way of proprietary driver installs, I'm unsure it is...

You need to install these packages (at least I didn't get my WorkForce WF-7710 to run without them):

epson-inkjet-printer-escpr
utsushi

"Installing a package" means in the case of SOLUS:

Open the SOFTWARE CENTER
go to SEARCH
enter epson-inkjet-printer-escpr as the item you want to find
click your result (which will be that same package)
click INSTALL
enter your ADMIN PASSWORD when asked for it, click OK
same with UTSUSHI
go to SETTINGS > DEVICES > PRINTERS
click on UNLOCK and enter your ADMIN PASSWORD, click OK
turn on your EPSON printer and connect it with your computer
let it search for your printer and install it
reboot your computer and try your EPSON printer/scanner

Bang your head against the wall if it still doesn't work.

I neglected that detail - yes, it did.

Funny - all the advice I found omitted this - the most obvious and simple of possibilities. I'd spent many very frustrating hours on the problem.
