You need to create a desktop entry and put it in your home directory at ~/.local/share/applications/icecat.desktop
:
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Icecat
GenericName=Icecat
Exec=/path/to/icecat/bin
Terminal=false
Icon=/path/to/icecat/icon
Type=Application
Categories=Application;Network;
Comment=Browser

Wow, Icecat is sport for surfing out of the box, with LibreJS & Third Party Request Blocker, to unlock websites, we have to do it over and over again, it's like configuring uMatrix, noscript or uBO without the matrix, inside small window with no search bar. The more we add rules, the more we search to find a rule to modify. Not handy.
Also, there are very very few resources on the net to explain all this, and unfortunately, many sites remain broken with small issue, no favicon with some bookmarks... In fact, it blocks a lot of things by default.
It's too much work.
I like it like that.
No pain no freedom
