Hi!
I have this USB3 card on the Mac Pro, it works fine on macOS and win10. If I leave it on the Mac Pro Solus turns to slow at about anything, i.e I choose a menu, move the mouse pointer but it takes it time to react, the menus are show way later and slower than used to be. Also, dragging a window is a pain, anyone remember what was on lets say a winPC on the 90s without a dedicated graphic card or a cr*p card? It draws the window less than a frame per second, you move the window and it struggles so hard. CPU usage is low.. but one of the eight cores peaking always at 90%

Where can I look for a log or anything else to share here so we all can check if the card is the culprit?

That is the card. Thanks

It's likely a poorly written driver for it, it's getting hung on something.

Hi Justin,

The card works, I can use the external blu-ray drive on it under Solus. Also, Solus doesn't behave slowly always. Today is running fine. I can't tell much more right now.

After reading up on that card (brand) wanted to add usb3 to something of mine. Sounds like a failing card seems not to uncommon.

MMB I'm sure it works fine but if it's slowing down your PC after a while then it's likely a driver issue.

If you take it out and the PC never slows down you have found the culprit.

    Hi everyone!

Short update on this. I did install and switch to LTS kernel (4.9.215-155) and now Solus flies on the Mac Pro. No issues with the USB3 card and no slowness on the system so far.
