(These programs, mentioned below, allow reordering, deleting, rotating, pages in pdf files, and merging pdf files together)

PDF Slicer a good replacement for PDFmod, PDF Shuffler, or PDF Arranger - which aren't available as an appimage, flatpak, or snap (I don't get on well with PDF Sam in the Solus repo).

I had bother with PDF Slicer when trying to open files, but installing xdg-desktop-portal-gtk solved it.
Info was found here.

So here's how to install it and avoid bumping into that:

PDF Slicer on Solus

sudo eopkg install flatpak xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
Restart the system
Go to: https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.github.junrrein.PDFSlicer
Click Install on the site, and save the file: com.github.junrrein.PDFSlicer.flatpakref
In your terminal go to the location of the downloaded file
Run: flatpak install com.github.junrrein.PDFSlicer.flatpakref

That's it, you should be good to run PDF Slicer from your main menu

johano I liked the tutorial.
Two questions, not urgent:

1) I love the idea of a foss version of the old adobe pitstop, if you will, but does it have content-editing capabilities? (I.E., editing typos, fonts, etc?)
and
2) Is there any pdf program for Solus or Linux (or can be compiled) that allows foe typed fields to work (i.e., a job application, or contract)?

brent, I'm not familiar with adobe pitstop, but I guess you're after programs that edit PDFs to some degree?

Libre Office can be helpful with PDFs. LibreOffice Draw can open, and to an extent, edit PDFs.

What I've found very useful, is the ability of Writer to export to PDF and embed the ODT document within the PDF. The resulting PDF looks and acts like any other, but if you open it later with Writer it leaves you editing your embedded document, which you can then re-export to PDF when finished (to make these "magic" PDFs, mark the Hybrid option in the Export as PDF dialouge).

I used this temporarily while I was looking for a substitute for PDF Arranger (a fork of PDF Shuffler), it might have possibilites.

. I didn't think one could import a PDF into Libre Writer and edit it. Fantastic news. I will have to try that and see what its limitations, if any, are.
The export makes sense as the finishing step, though out of habit I print right to postscript. Then convert later.

You can open PDF in Draw, but in Writer you need to start with a Writer document, but if you export as PDF using hybrid, afterwards you can open such a PDF in Writer
