Hi, all...
I installed Solus Budgie a couple weeks ago, and everything worked flawlessly after a few hiccups (entirely mine) with my VPN. Like a dummy, I was trying to install a different distro for testing purposes on another hard drive, and of course I overwrote my Solus install by mistake. So, I reinstalled it.
Now, when I boot up, I get a message that my printer has been added. I don't recall that happening before, on the last install.
Also, when I try to print, the printer fires up, loads paper, and behaves as though it's printing, but the page it produces is nearly blank. I get a very faint yellow on some pages, and a sort of faint lavender on others. No text anywhere, just a...smudge.
I have Windows on another drive, and I swap it in on the rare occasions that I absolutely need Windows. The printer works fine there.
Hardware: HP Envy desktop from around 2015. Intel Core i5 @ 3270 GHz, 12 GB RAM. Solus Budgie 4.1 with kernel 5.5.4-148.current #1 SMP PREEMPT. Gnome version is 3.34.4. This is installed on a 112 GB SSD.
My background: Using computers since about 1993. I'm not afraid of the command line but I'm much more familiar with Windows. I've used several variants of Ubuntu before, and had a nice install of Fedora 29 Gnome last year. I've also made a Hackintosh, but I wiped that drive completely to use for Solus.
If anyone can assist with this, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm really puzzled why and how this occurred, since the last installation, from the same boot disk and ISO, was perfect. This is really weird.
