Hello, my Early 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 doesn’t boot from Solus on USB or optical. In fact as soon as I plug the USB or put the DVD on the DVD drive it does nothing. It doesn’t even show the Apple logo nor does allow to choose the boot drive (using the Option key when it boots) I have seen this on a Late 2011 MacBook Pro 17”. I did manage to install Solus on my 2009/2010 iMac. This Mac Pro was upgraded with a 8-core Xeon processors plus other things.
But I also did a well know hack modifying the boot.efi file that allows to install a much newer Mac OS X 10.11.6 from 2016 than the oficial supported of Mac OS X 10.7.5 from 2012. It also allows this ‘old’ computer to get up to 64GB RAM. You can check that hack here
MachineProfile app says processor, EFI and Kernel are 64bit.
I would like to install Solus as I have plenty of spare drives inside. Anyone knows why it does show nothing at boot? What else can I try to boot Solus?
Thanks.
