Hello all, I switched to Solus early this month and I have been trying to update android studio to the latest version but I always get this error "some conflicts were found in the installation area jre/bin/java modified linux" and like a hundred more all at once on a page when the update is about to be applied . I really need to solve this issue, how do I go about it?

kyrios Pretty sure I've seen this error before, it's when a user tries to update from within the application.

Justin That's my point... from within the application is not from the software center.

Justin Yes that's what I did, any other way to update it cos I really wanna use Solus but if I can't use Android Studio I will have to switch cos it's affecting my job.

jarviz Either update from the Software Center or, and I would recommend this in the case of a huge package like Android Studio, use the following terminal commands shown here

jarviz Personally, I use JetBrains' own Toolbox application to manage JetBrains' IDEs installed on my system. You just have to download the Toolbox, run the shell script once and it'll install itself. Once that's done, you can install/update any of their software (including Android Studio) from within the app.

nathanpainchaud Can you tell me how to run this shell script you mentioned. I don't know how to go about it.
