Installing old version of WineHQ?

I could really use a help from someone who did this before, I am very new to this kind of things and don't wanna brick my system again doing something i shouldn't and don't know how to do. So my question is how do i safely configure and install the "Wine-2.11.tar.xz" file in my lutris runner folder without doing harm to the system. I guess i want to make lutris detect i have this version on my pc and that i can use it for certain game i want to play because i can't see this version in native lutris wine runner options. Sorry for my bad English. hope someone understand this!

Which game are you trying to run? Have you searched for it on lutris & winehq websites ?

kyrios Old World of warcraft lich king with (legion models) i already ask on servers forum and the gamemaster personally suggested me to try it with WineHQ 2.11. I think i would just add the game in lutris and decide the options and runners myself.
EDIT: On lutris it says there is no installers for this game right now but i can configure manually as one of the options for it.

kyrios I haven't yet downloaded it i just wanted to get the runner showing in lutris. Yea i should get the game first and try with available runner that was my thought about it, but i think this game specifically needs lower versions of wine runner.

Ok this was pretty easy as I expected it to be, it was a matter of going on lutris page and downloading exact wine version I wanted from their page just extracting it afterwards and that was it. The game works even better then it did on windows. 🙂 Thanks for the support !
