gis-weather is not in the repos. It comes inrpm and deb packages thhat aren't supported by SOLUS. It was the same with megasync until someone made a community package that works. Can someone please do the same with gis-weather? All the other weather widget/indicators out there are crap.

Chief gis-weather hasn't ever been requested to be added for the repo, as far as I can tell. You are free to ask for it to be added here. In the meantime, as detailed in the project readme, you can also download the file from a link in the readme, unpack it, and run the file.

EbonJaeger https://github.com/RingOV/gis-weather is a good link. I never thought of looking in github (the holy grail of stuff 🙂)) ). It works installed this morning. I also never thought of manually copying the bad link without the #readme. Problem solved.

I thought this was pretty cool, too. I'd love to have it. Followed dbarron's non-link myself but the github goes to sourceforge and despite it saying "all linux" and deb and rpm and tar options........all downloads go to an .EXE which seemed weird to me. I have the .exe on my desktop but I ain't gonna extract it!
Heartbreaker--- it looked like a nice fleshed out weather gizmo.

brent Sounds like it can't detect your OS. On my Solus machine it gave me a .deb, but a .exe on windows.

brent https://github.com/RingOV/gis-weather Download the ZIP, extract it to a Folder, I have one named Builds. It extracts a folder. Open the folder and execute gis-weather.py. You have to look at the file properties and permissions, and make it executable first.

EbonJaeger thought it could be my usr-agent BlendIn FF extension myself---you are probably right. that extension works so good I get 'unsupported browser' messages a lot....edit: makes me feel it confounds the trackers, though🙂
