Hello
This is probably the same issue as https://discuss.getsol.us/d/3252-mouse-touchpad-not-working, but I wanted to avoid necroposting.
Today I applied friday's update, which includes an update of the kernel to 5.4.8.
Since reboot my touchpad has stopped working. The symptoms are the same as the update from the beginning of December (5.4.1 I think) which was identified as this bug https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205745, that is supposed to be fixed in 5.4.8 (actually I cannot understand if it was fixed in the mainline kernel or just in Arch).
The relevant part of dmesg (I can't paste it all) is
[ 8.901487] i2c_hid i2c-ELAN1010:00: failed to reset device.
[...]
[ 15.045591] i2c_hid i2c-ELAN1010:00: failed to reset device.

[ 27.333503] i2c_hid i2c-ELAN1010:00: failed to reset device.
[ 28.357560] i2c_hid i2c-ELAN1010:00: can't add hid device: -61
[ 28.357945] i2c_hid: probe of i2c-ELAN1010:00 failed with error -61
which is the same I used to see in December.
Rolling back fixes the kernel bug of course (it's a really nice feature!), but I can't hold off upgrades forever...
Thanks in advance!
