Brother HL-L2375DW printer not working

First off, thank you for an excellent distro. Just installed Solus as my first linux installation on my Lenovo E531 fitted with a brand new Samsung 480gb SSD. Wow, this system is fast and snappy. I am not going back to Win10, but I have a serious problem with printing.

Solus immediately recognized the aforementioned printer in printer settings, "printing" and followed by "Printing completed" is reported but nothing happens when I try to print out a document. The printer worked fine with Win10. Nothing shows up in the print queue.
I have tried to remove the printer, remove the driver and reinstall the driver via the Software Center. Has further tried to run the command proposed by the debugging program in Help section.

Would be grateful for any help to solve this issue.

davidjharder In my journey with Solus installs/my Brother computers I did not notice sequence mattered. When the printer is recognized, I usually walk it thru the driver install process via the unlocked print settings dialogue box; no terminal, no software center. Thank you for posting this---I forget these options also exist (thanks to the DEV page T83 thread).
NewUser2020 was absolutely right to rip it out and try it again. Reboot as well. Be surprised if that alone didn't fix it. Solus is that responsive. I wouldn't edit any file. I would think you had easy success by now especially since this is in repo.

@NewUser2020 Make sure you are adding the printer after the driver is installed, otherwise the printer will be added with a generic driver.

Remove the printer in printer settings
install the driver: sudo eopkg install brother-hll2375dw
Add the printer back in printer settings

Thank you for posting this solution! I installed Solus MATE (which is great so far!) and could not get my Brother printer installed. The generic driver that MATE found using Print Settings, was useless. I installed the package BRSCAN4 and that did not help either. Then I tried your command, substituting the name of my printer: sudo eopkg install brother-hll2390dw, and it worked!! The HL-L2390DW is not even in the list on the Hardware page, of supported Brother printers, but the package does exist, and it installed, and now my printer works. By the way, if you need to delete a printer from the system, that is not functioning, it can be done from the terminal with this command: lpadmin -x PrinterName ... had to do this to get rid of the printer with the useless generic driver.

I also have one of these and altho it installed ok I have found that whenever it goes in Deep Sleep I can't get it out! These days I just turn it off when finished as I don't print that much.

IT IS WORKING!!
I removed the printer, removed the driver via the Software center, rebooted the computer, installed the driver again, and discovered that the system added the same printer twice. One of the printers was with driver - did't work; the other printer is driverless , and that works perfectly.

Gooooodby to Win10!
