Well, i'm here again with optimus questions. I was looking on the internet and looks like Fedora is already using the necessary xorg patches for the optimus support, it is on the master branch or something like that. So, is Solus using it too? I really want to use the system, and that is the only thing holding me lol. Anyway, thanks in advance and hope you guys continue with this awesome work.
Xorg Patches and Optimus
As far as I understand all we need is vanilla (unmodified) X.Org 1.20.6: X.Org Server 1.20.6 Released With Many Bug Fixes - Helps XWayland, PRIME + Other Bits
Also this is PRIME, so you should be able to simply have a Nvidia drivers installed, the system will use iGPU for almost everything, and when you put DRI_PRIME=1
before a command it will use Nvidia GPU for that app. At least this is how it works for open source drivers (Intel, AMD and Nvidia using Nouveau).
I'm extremely excited about, if only my laptop didn't have a GPU so old that it won't work with newest drivers...
I'm excited too, but when the 435 driver was released, the Xorg on solus repo didn't had the necessary updates. Now i don't know cause i'm on Windows, that's why i'm asking. But if you say that is already implemented, i think i'm going to try it. Thanks!

tboerc Because Fedora cherrypicked patches and used them with older version of X.Org, you wouldn't get them on any other distro. As now they are in stable one it should very soon come to Solus. Soon, because it isn't here even on unstable. I will post here when it comes.
the general rule is, we do not add upstream patches to add addtional functions we rather wait till a stable version arrives but I saw the new 1.20.6 version came out last week, I can check it out to update it
Girtablulu Yeah i know, and I respect this decision. But I didn't knew if already was on stable or not, I just saw it on RPM Fusion documentation, that now in fedora is just install and be happy. But I would be very grateful if you could update the package. Thanks again.
JacekJagosz Got it, thanks dude.
