Is it possible that Gnome firmware may or may not be included in the software repos soon?
Who wants to install windows extra just to get the latest bios version, or other various FWs ...
So not me. On my laptop runs consistently only linux. And for a very long time.
Best regards

No. gnome-firmware uses fwupd which is not going in any time soon.

fwupd represents an unprecedented ability to brick your machine. Until I am sure that we can deploy it with the appropriate safeties in place, it's not going in.

In addition Solus currently uses clr-boot-manager which doesn't have integration for fwupd an doesn't look like it ever will.

At this point because fwupdate is available I'm mostly in favor of closing this issue as I don't think integrating fwupd with CBM is the way to go.
