My problem with public transit is manifold. It doesn't start anywhere near where I live, and doesn't go anywhere I want to go (without multiple transfers and waiting). I can't carry a week's worth of groceries on a bus, and if I could, it won't stop and wait while I carry said groceries into my house. (See also: "... doesn't start anywhere near my house.")
Local public transit has changed the price of my car's license tabs from $30 to $336 per anum, even though I never use public transit. License tabs are still $30 by law, but my car can't be licensed without also paying the additional transit tax. Most of that transit tax is supposedly to pay for "light rail," which looks to be obsolete by the time it's up and running. (We're years away from that.)
There are even more reasons why I don't use public transit, but I'm not here to start a fight. That should be enough commentary from me for now.
