Im unable to use my HDD

I have 2 drives in my computer. One is an SSD where I house Solus. The second one is my HDD where I put all of my personal files and documents.
The problem is that I cant use my HDD for anything.
So I just wanted to ask if someone have had this issue and if so, any solutions. Any help would be appreciated!

If you start up the GPartEd partition editor, does it show both drives? It will show only one at a time, but there should be a listbox control where you can switch among all that are present. That, at least, would show that the system knows about the HDD.

If it doesn't show up in the listbox, that would narrow down the possible causes. If you're unfamiliar with using a partitioner, don't actually change anything there. Just find out if you can SEE that drive in GPartEd.

Aurin I still cant write to the SSD though and I don't want to mess anything up since that's where the OS is.

As I understand the root partition / is on the SSD. Since users are not supposed to write there, the behavior sounds normal. Elevated privileges are required to make modifications there.

That changes things a bit. Originally it was the HDD that wasn't accessible. I was hoping that the HDD wouldn't turn up in GPartEd, and the cause might be a simple hardware issue that's easy to resolve, like a bad SATA cable.

Nothing comes quickly to mind regarding an SSD that does show up but can't be written to. No spare room on the SSD would be one possible cause, but it would be obvious if that were the case. SSDs don't last forever, some more than others. It's possible it's just a faulty SSD.

Just how did you get your HDD working? It may not be related to the SSD issue, but I'm curious. Maybe others here will come up with ideas that might help.

Indeed. It would be illuminating to find out exactly WHAT Aurin was trying to write to. /home/Aurin might also be on that SSD, and wouldn't require elevated credentials to write to that. "... can't write to the SSD..." might not tell the whole story.
