I Want to switch from windows to solus but my drive is ntfs

Can someone please help my i want to make the switch but my drive where i store everinthing is formated ntfs

NOTE: a clean install will wipe the entire contents of your drive and you will lose everything not backed up.

My recommendation is always to back up your data before any OS installation. It is possible to shrink your Windows partition, enlarge the Windows ESP (if you are on a UEFI device), and then install Solus in a dual-booting configuration. You will still have access to Windows and all of your files from Solus. If you want to get rid Windows completely, you will need to copy all of the files that you want to keep to an external drive or back them up with a cloud service before doing a clean install of Solus.

If your drive is for the Solus installation you can format it during Solus install. If this is a secondary storage drive you will be able to use it without any extra steps... Or am I wrong?

I don't believe you will be successful with a linux installation on ntfs.
You must either repartition the drive or purchase a drive you're willing to reformat.
You should be able to access an additional drive (at least read-only) for data storage, though I would NOT really recommend keeping NTFS. I would (as suggested buy another drive) and change to linux native format such as ext4 or xfs or zfs.

i have a secondery 1tb disk where all my data is stored on (not my windows installation) and that disk is formated ntfs

ItsLeffdePeff You can configure Linux to seamlessly work with NTFS drives. ArchWiki's entry on NTFS-3G is a good starting point if you want to figure out how to do it.

gbursztynek i cant get it to work every time i get this error
NTFS signature is missing.
Failed to mount '/dev/sdc2': Invalid argument
The device '/dev/sdc2' doesn't seem to have a valid NTFS.
Maybe the wrong device is used? Or the whole disk instead of a
partition (e.g. /dev/sda, not /dev/sda1)? Or the other way around?
